Thorpeness is a quiet seaside village in Suffolk close to Aldeburgh, famous for its' music festival The historic village has been voted as the 'Weirdest Village in England' by 'Bizarre' magazine in 2003 due to its unusual amenities that area dotted around the area. These include the House in the Clouds; which is a water tower that has been disguised to look like a weatherboarded building more in keeping with Thorpeness's mock-Tudor and Jacobean style, except seeming to float above the trees and can be seen from the hotel's golf course.
