Email Enquiryfor more informationWelcome to Rectory Holidays self catering apartment in the Brecklands of Norfolk. This studio apartment sleeps two adults and comprises a lounge/bedroom, kitchen/diner and a shower room. The apartment is a part of the Old Rectory in Beachamwell, which is also home to a rare Saxon Church with a round tower and thatched roof. The village green is a conservation area and is adjacent to a pub which serves excellent food.
Beechamwell is an ancient place. In the Dark Ages an earthwork called Devil’s Dyke was built, which remained the parish boundary until 1879. Prehistoric tools, Roman coins and Saxon jewellery have all been found in the area. The Domesday Book, however, mentions not one, but two villages, “Wella and Bitcham”. The remains of Wella have been found near the ruins of All Saints’ Church on the outskirts of the present village. The ghost of Diana and her dogs is said to haunt All Saints’ Church and certainly owls hoot eerily on moonlit nights.
The apartment sleeps two adults in a lounge/bedroom with double bed, sofa bed, easy chairs, wide screen television, DVD, video and freeview. The Kitchen/Diner has a dining table seating 4 people and a fully equipped kitchen area comprising full size oven, ceramic hob, microwave oven and fridge. The shower room has an electric shower, toilet, wash-hand basin and shaver point. French doors open onto the patio with garden furniture and views across the two acre garden, all windows have lovely views.
Linen is provided and the apartment benefits from WIFI access. This is a Non-Smoking property, sorry no pets.
