Property Information

Shawsgate is one of East Anglia’s oldest commercial vineyards producing a range of white, red, rosé and Quality Sparkling wines. Shop online or visit the Vineyard for an experience day for an interesting insight into British wine production. There is no admission charge to the vineyard and you are welcome to wander and relax amongst the vines. A great place to watch the seasons change. Dogs are welcome on leads and there is a children's play area.

Visitors to Shawsgate are welcome to do a ‘diy’ tour of the vineyard at their own leisure. There is no charge to do this and staff will provide you with an information sheet and vineyard map so you don’t get lost! Feel free to come at any time and watch the seasons change. You will be surrounded by abundant wildlife and bird life, a lovely walk any time of year. Experience Days operate most Fridays & Saturdays May until the end of August. While Evening events operate on certain Wednesday evenings during the summer. Booking is essential so please call for further details.

Unique Features

Experience Days at Shawgate Vineyard are a wonderful way to find out more about English wine surrounded by our beautifully kept gardens and vineyards and include: Tea/coffee on arrival and a chance to meet your hosts and other guests. Guided tour of the vineyards. Guided tour of the winery and a discussion on the wine making process. Tasting of around 5 different wines accompanied by tasting notes. A two course buffet lunch including homemade dessert. Featuring locally sourced food and a glass of our wine or grape juice. Each couple will also receive a complementary bottle of their favourite wine from the tasting. The whole atmosphere of the day is relaxed and informal, it is by no means a wine lecture, and no previous knowledge of wine making or tasting is required to enjoy the experience.
