The Crooked House Gallery is a charming gallery situated in the picturesque village of Lavenham, Suffolk. The Gallery is in the medieval building of the Crooked House, one of England’s most vertically challenged structures! Originally built by a wealthy cloth merchant around 1395, the crooked house is the service wing of his grand hall house, one of many historic homes in Lavenham. Customers are welcome to browse and enjoy the art on display here with knowledgeable and friendly staff on hand to advise and answer any questions you may have.

The Crooked House Gallery is run by Clare Calder-Marshall and artist/writer Alison Englefield. It is a treasure trove of original and inspiring artworks available to view and for sale and the gallery champions East Anglian Artists. The Crooked House Gallery displays a fine collection of pictures, ceramics, sculpture, glassware and jewellery to admire and to buy. An ever changing exhibition with something to suit all tastes and budgets.

Unique Features

The Crooked House Gallery have established a growing reputation for their unique hand painted ceramics. When it comes to sculptures, enjoy the quirky poetic vision of zoe rubens, whose work is increasingly sold in London and abroad .. Please email the gallery for images of her zany prints and sculptures. Stained Glass is created by Suffolk Craft artist, Danielle Hopkinson trained in medieval stained glass techniques and her work is exceptional. Swallows & dragonfly mobiles are a speciality of Norwich artist, catherine youngs – both are happy to accept commissions. Alison Englefield’s textile jewellery using handmade silk paper decorated with silk paper, embroidery and mixed media is unique to this gallery.
