Email Enquiryfor more informationSituated in an 18th Century coach house and stables with cobbled floors, Deborah Baynes Pottery Studio offers pottery courses in a unique environment surrounded by the picturesque scenery of the Suffolk countryside. Deborah started her fascination with pottery in 1967 and became famous for her summer courses and so has a vast experience with and teaching pottery. Pop along and spend a day learning a new technique from salt glazing, Raku to throwing and have fun in the process.
The house is Grade II listed and is believed to date back from the early 1600's. Comfortable accommodation is provided in the large oak-beamed rooms for those on the course and an ideal setting for Deborah's extensive collection of pots. These include work by famous modern studio potters through to antique salt glaze and 15th Century Chinese pieces. There is also a large library of pottery-related books and magazines which students will find a useful source of inspiration and ideas.
