The Old Counting House Restaurant is situated in the peaceful village of Haughley in Stowmarket, Suffolk and provides a cosy and relaxing setting in which diners can enjoy well presented food and service. The restaurant is also popular for wedding receptions and private functions with a seating capacity of up to 70 people. This 14th century restaurant and bar is ideal for your special occasion where you can choose from the lunch, dinner or a la Carte menu or create your own, the choice is yours.

The Old Counting House Restaurant serves a range of dishes which combine modern, traditional and international flavours to suit all palettes. The a la Carte menu includes starters such as: Warm green asparagus topped with a poached egg served with hollandaise sauce, Beef Carpaccio - Thinly sliced marinated beef topped with sun dried tomatoes, pine nuts, parmesan cheese, pesto and balsamic glaze and Deep fried beer battered mushrooms served with a warm garlic sauce. Main Courses include: Tender 8oz Fillet steak served with horse radish mash and smoked garlic-port sauce, Tender 8oz Fillet steak served with horse radish mash and smoked garlic-port sauce or Crispy duck breast served with Orange Grand Marnier sauce and sautéed potatoes. Fresh fish dishes include: Fillets of Sea Bass with Cherry Tomatoes & Basil - Served on linguini pasta and Seafood paella - Traditional Spanish rice dish with mixed shell fish and tiger prawns - served with salad.
